The early-90's was a strange time in general to be a fan of the then-World Wrestling Federation. After 'Hulkamania' had dominated the 80's, the promotion didn't really seem to know which way to turn - The Ultimate Warrior had been chosen as the elected new franchise player, but he hadn't been able to fill Hogan's boots, which only led to Hulk's return later in 1990.

In 1991, Jake 'The Snake' Roberts was a conniving heel who turned after claiming he could help Warrior prepare for his matches against The Undertaker. What followed was a bizarre series of skits, presumably designed to show just how far one had to go in order to face Undertaker.

If that was the intention, the segments fell way short of the mark. Instead of marveling at Jake's intense training regimen, fans were left wondering who was writing this stuff, years before the name 'Vince Russo' would become synonymous with oddball scenarios.

The most memorable 'training' scene occurred when Warrior was bitten by a rubber snake, which was clearly fake. Roberts then revealed he had been working in conjunction with 'Taker, thus turning heel, and leaving everybody watching utterly flabbergasted.
