10 WWE Attitude Era Disasters That Even Jim Ross Couldn’t Get Over

4. Vince Makes Trish Bark Like A Dog

And now we've reached the lowest point in WWE's long and storied history with sexism. There was never a more obviously chauvinistic storyline during this era than the one that had Vince McMahon making out with the big-bossomed Stratus to make his wheelchair-bound, catatonic wife jealous. It was the kind of super tasteful stunt that Vince was known for back then. But groping a woman 30 years his junior wasn't enough. Nor was making out with a 60-year-old egomaniac degrading enough for Trish Stratus. To prove just how low the company could go, Vince decided the storyline needed a little more debasing. So he fashioned an in-ring bit that featured Trish crawling around on her hands and knees, showing her appreciation to her bossy by barking. Like a dog. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cs49LuTeahw There are a number of storylines and moments during his tenure with the WWE that J.R. is ashamed of, and this one ranks up there pretty high. You can hear it in his voice as he seethes at his boss:
"Oh for God's sakes, you've gotta be kidding me! She's a human being!"
Vince getting all up in her face and growling at her--you know, in that way of his--is classic McMahon. And even though this individual moment was used as the catalyst for Trish redeclaring her independence and standing up for herself, it still just went too far, which J.R. acknowledges:
"That's just too much! That's too much!"
