10 WWE Attitude Era PPV Matches That Are Severely Underrated

4. Owen Hart Vs. Edge - Breakdown: In Your House 1998

https://vimeo.com/104448016 Two native Canadian boys--one a splashy young rookie, the other a seasoned veteran--going head to head in Ontario? This was bound to be an engaging battle, if only because of the locale and the performers' desire to serve up a tasty slice of sports entertainment to their home crowd. Proof (as if we needed it) that Owen Hart could make anyone look like a top tier tactician in the ring, he guides the fresh-faced Edge through a technical clinic, using a mix of classic maneuvers (wristlocks, drop toe holds) and high-flying attacks (hurricanranas, springboard crossbodies) to keep things interesting. The moves were crisp and well-timed, with a steady pace that's hard to find in modern matches. It's a shame that Edge never fully embraced this technical style of wrestling because, despite one early mistake during a backbend, he pretty much nailed it. He also proved he could take a huge bump with relative ease, jumping off the ring skirt and into the arms of Owen Hart for a midair powerslam. The many near falls kept everyone on their toes, as Edge was still undefeated in his young career at the time and could have very easily upset the more experienced Hart. Unfortunately, this match is only really talked about because it first introduced Christian with a quick and mysterious cameo near the end.
