10 WWE Booking Steps To Save The Members Of RETRIBUTION
9. Strong Promo Packages
The story post-RETRIBUTION seems reasonably simple; rebuild everyone involved.
It shouldn't really take too long if it's done to a decent standard either. All they need is some strong promo packages and they'll be back on the right track, something that Mustafa Ali knows a thing or two about.
Ali in no way should immediately turn babyface any time soon, but a return to those sensational pre-RETRIBUTION promos he filmed by himself that WWE didn't even bother to put into the SmackDown script would be ideal. Why WWE failed to recognise Ali's efforts towards his character, your writer will never know. To reiterate, he was doing these by himself.
As for the other members, a video package of them tearing it up in NXT alongside a short promo of them explaining why they thought RETRIBUTION was what they needed should suffice. It doesn't need to be anything groundbreaking, of course, merely one or two minutes of, for example, Dominik Dijakovic explaining how he joined the group because his rival Keith Lee was hogging all the glory in NXT as a double champion. He was likely never going to receive major hype if he were given a regular main roster call-up, so he made his own hype.
Something like this.
