10 WWE Champions You Didn't Care To Hate
9. Sheamus
Make no mistake about it, The Celtic Warrior is a future WWE Hall of Fame performer. Sheamus has done it all, winning everything available to him with the exception of the WWE Intercontinental Championship, and it would take a brave fan to bet against that happening in the future. He might not get the sort of appreciation that is afforded to other stars but that doesn't really matter, because you know what you're going to get with Sheamus, namely hard-fought matches and some snappy outfits outside of the ring.
Today, Sheamus gets a quiet respect from fans, nothing over the top but there is an understanding there that reliability and toughness are to be celebrated. In late 2015? Things were very different for the leader of the League of Nations. How WWE was able to mess up a stable with that amount of talent is a serious indictment of the company, but was anyone truly surprised? The quartet was booked like dorks, none more so than Sheamus, in another example of WWE's inability to understand how to book the Money in the Bank briefcase.
Sheamus was ice-cold when Survivor Series 2015 rolled around. Actually, no, The Celtic Warrior was colder than that. We're talking Yakutsk-cold, so it is no great surprise to find out that his cashing-in and subsequent title were reign were about as interesting an extremely non-interesting thing. His last WWE Championship reign lasted 22 forgettable days.
