When independent wrestler Kara Slice was signed to a developmental contract, she was made the manager of Deuce Shade (Sim Snuka) and Dice Domino (Cliff Compton). She took the name Cherry Pie, and the three did a 1950s style gimmick the men were greasers, and Cherry was a roller-skating, gum-chewing, poodle-skirt-sporting anachronism. By the time they came up to WWE in early 2007, their names were changed slightly now we were simply dealing with Deuce, Domino, and Cherry but the gimmicks were the same. The team quickly found success, as they ended the 11-month WWE Tag Team Championship reign of Paul London and Brian Kendrick however, it was short-lived. They lost the belts by the summer, their win-loss record started to falter, and Cherry soon split from her fellas. The rift led to a face turn, a mini-feud with Maryse, and a running-afoul of Vickie Guerrero. Still, none of these turned into long-term success for Cherry, and she was released in August of 2008.
