10 WWE Elimination Chamber 2019 Impulse Reactions

By its own doing the Elimination Chamber inadvertently often promises more than it can actually deliver. From red cells to silver ladders and this jet-black monstrosity, the expectation remains the same - in WWE, vast structures, massive cages and carnivorous contraptions are stages that command chaos from those that perform upon - or within - them.

The company had done a great job of building heat for the pay-per-view main event by using the go-home show itself. Kofi Kingston's hour-long effort on SmackDown Live made him the firm favourite here, even if his opposing heels and faces alike had no truck for such sentiment.

The men in this main event were chasing the standards set by the women in the opener, and on those grounds, fell marginally short.

The closing stretch, however, topped Bryan's previous best-of-all-time Chamber finale. Aping and then eclipsing the WWE Champion's iconic 2012 closer with Santino Marella, Bryan and Kofi Kingston engaged in a 12-minute one-on-one thriller after already enduring nearly 25 of them in the main Chamber clash itself. Going up the gears, the two chased and captured the heat around Kofi's unlikely victory with magnificent ease - a Trouble In Paradise counter highlighted the gripping final third.
