The 'Miss WrestleMania' battle royal at 2009's 25th edition of the pay-per-view was the true nadir of what we were once forced to call the Divas Division.

A match so bad that aforementioned openers Trish Stratus and Lita pie-faced it before it even came to be, the multi-woman match was embarrassingly pitched as an over-long p*ss break culminating in a dated Santino Marella-in-drag gag.

As bad were the entrances. Given no time to even wrestle, the women were forced to enter to the strains of some utterly abhorrent Kid Rock sexualisation call-to-arms whilst cavorting against his weathered frame. The whole thing was excruciatingly WWE, or at least, what WWE was, anyway.

There seemed a rather pointed atonement in ensuring every combatant got an individually specialised entrance, and the match itself would have been the best battle royal of the year had All In not managed to intricately book one as if it was a vital midcard rocket-strapper.

The work was solid - even from those that weren't capable of it when they were full-timers - with the old guard all earning a moment in the spotlight before the current crop stole the final third.

A Nia Jax win inspired little, but the match overall inspired hope in the company's ability to do this stuff again and again until the aforementioned Kid Rock atrocity is finally forgotten.
