Kane was chosen ase John Cena’s dance partner in early 2012. Cena was scheduled to face The Rock at WrestleMania 28 in a match made a full year in advance of the actual event. It was imperative to keep Cena healthy on the road to 'Mania so who better than the famously safe Kane to keep him busy?

Kane, having returned re-masked and calling himself 'The Devil’s Favourite Demon,' was determined to make Cena “embrace the hate”, demanding the perennial babyface turn heel. Not the worst idea, except that John's merchandise at the time had the slogan “Rise Above Hate” emblazoned across everything. The crux of the angle seemed like an obvious cash grab.

The bouts were boring and by-the-numbers, with an ambulance match closing off the feud at Elimination Chamber. The fact that said ambulance match was the main event of the evening and not an Elimination Chamber was baffling. Furthermore, this storyline attached the rising star of Zach Ryder to Cena, then caused said star to implode by subjecting Ryder to week after week of humiliating beat-downs by Kane that ended in an infamous cuckold angle, killing the former US Champion dead in the water.

That makes two cuckold angles on this list. When the writing team have an idea, they certainly run with it...
