10 WWE Gimmicks That Pushed The PG Era To Its Limits

7. The New Day (Booty Shaking Funsters)

Original plans for The New Day called for them to be a happy-go-lucky trio who proudly paraded black gospel roots. When fans rejected the group as babyfaces, they turned heel and began revelling in the heat they were getting for being so overboard. Somehow, that led to organic cheers and New Day turned face again.

That's when Kofi Kingston and Big E started shaking their asses like there were ants in their pants, Big E began spanking opponents during matches and Xavier Woods delighted in making more sexual innuendos than the old Carry On movies.

In just a few months, New Day went from proud African-Americans to booty-shaking, dick-joke-making funsters who sold cereal called "Booty-O's". Work that one out.

Lord only knows what parents sitting down to watch WWE programming with their young kids must think when Big E gyrates his crotch, shakes his booty, licks his hand before spanking other wrestlers mid-ring or the group tease making male genitalia out of fruit. Seriously.
