4. Shayna Baszler Is Scared Of Dolls
The 7 June 2021 Raw closed with quite the segment. Shayna Baszler dismissed Alexa Bliss and her childhood doll Lilly, so the possessed toy tormented Shayna as WWE's flagship went off the air. To her credit, Baszler tried her best with the material she was given, but creative might as well have asked her to build a house using Lego bricks.
Shayna has said in interviews that she enjoyed going out of her comfort zone for the story. That's cool, but hardly anyone else enjoyed it. Baszler hid, ran, screamed and randomly got fired up ready to kick this possessed Annabelle wannabe square in the buttons.
Thankfully, nobody thought to put Shayna vs. Lilly in the ring for an "MMA Rules" encounter.
June 2021 came in the middle of WWE's push to usher back live attendance for select pay-per-views, but TV still took place in front of those ThunderDome screens. So, cinematic fever gripped the promotion, which is presumably why somebody thought wrestling's biggest weekly ending with an MMA badass fleeing from a doll was the best cliffhanger.
