10 WWE Ideas So Awful Even Legends Couldn't Get Them Over

An odd outlier this, in that Shawn Michaels and Triple H were latterly lauded for their experimentation during the embryonic stages of the Attitude Era. By all accounts (especially their own), 'HBK' and 'The Game' were asking for forgiveness rather than permission during their D-Generation-X heyday, gambling massive fines for killer lines in an effort to share the load and the spotlight with Stone Cold Steve Austin as the entire product developed a jagged edge.

That sort of jiggery pokery was generally saved for spots and segments that may have coloured outside the lines rather than just proposing new nicknames as Shawn Michaels did midway through an infamous mocking promo from the pair.

Tearing apart impending pay-per-view rivals Ken Shamrock and Sgt Slaughter respectively, Shawn and Hunter took turns undercutting their foes whilst dedicating more effort to the lollipops they were enjoying on at the same time. It was through these sweetened teeth that the 'Heartbreak Kid' threw to his colleague with an Legion Of Doom-esque 'TELL 'EM TRI!'. The line and moniker sucked more than Shawn on his lolly as rare crickets flared up for the terrible twosome. The pair never aired the nickname again, though the sensational OSW Review crew thankfully later unearthed it for posterity, with Jim Ross' utter contempt for the line hilariously included.
