10 WWE Managers Who Totally Outshone Their Wrestlers
2. Alexa Bliss (Blake & Murphy)
In NXT, Blake & Murphy were a competent team between the ropes, athletic with a decent build, but they had little character development. Despite this Blake & Murphy captured the NXT Tag Team Championship defeating The Lucha Dragons on 28 January 2015 episode of NXT. This was only their second televised win.
Alexa Bliss joined the team to even out the numbers during a feud with Enzo, Big Cass, and their manager Carmella. After Bliss assisted them to hold onto their championships for a short while, she cut ties with them (in reality to debut on the main roster). In hindsight, the expansion into a trio only served Bliss well.
On the main roster, Bliss’ accomplishments and popularity have surpassed that of her former teammates. She has captured five Women's Championships, won the Money in the Bank briefcase (2018), and is herself a two-time Tag Champion (with Nikki Cross).
On the main roster, Murphy found some success as Cruiserweight Champion and in a master-pupil alliance with Seth Rollins (which led to Raw tag team gold). Prior to being let go, Blake's main roster run was title-free and forgettable. Perhaps it’s for the best that Bliss hangs out with puppets.
