10 WWE Matches That Defined Each Year Of The 2010s
6. 2014 - Daniel Bryan Vs Randy Orton Vs Batista
2014 was the year of Daniel Bryan.
From the moment he didn't appear in the Royal Rumble match, Bryan was on a trajectory to the top of the card and to a place in wrestling legend.
Fans got behind Bryan in a way they hadn't done with anyone since the days of Austin and The Rock. The fact that WWE clearly had no plans to include him the main event of WrestleMania XXX only compounded fans' desires even further, and eventually, the bookers were forced to listen.
At WrestleMania XXX, Bryan was in the night's opening and closing match. He opened the show with a win over Triple H, which meant that he would join Batista in challenging for Randy Orton's WWE Championship in the night's main event.
To complete the fairytale story, Bryan forced Orton to submit to the Yes! Lock and captured the championship that he had been so cruelly robbed of by The Viper at the previous year's SummerSlam.
It was an amazing moment to see Bryan lift both belts at the end of the night. This was the culmination of a long, arduous journey for Bryan and the fans who had backed him every step of the way got more than their share of satisfaction on this night.
