WWE promised carnage.

They delivered; this WWE Match of the Year candidate saved a drawn-out SummerSlam card through virtue of being an utterly chaotic, furniture-destroying free-for-all that was simply too intense, too major, too exciting to fall asleep in front of.

It also delivered the hidden promise of a stature-enhancing performance from one Braun Strowman; the Monster Among Men established his credentials as not only an established headline talent, not only a candidate for 'The Guy', but as an actual equal to the invincible aura of Brock Lesnar, who he threw around the ringside area with careless abandon.

Unfortunately, Vince McMahon's 'The Guy' remains 'The Big Dog' - hence why Strowman was beaten so easily in a drab No Mercy singles sequel - but he emerged from the literal wreckage with enough currency to guarantee storyline protection beyond September. Strowman looked so bloody great in this match that it would not be a surprise if this was the night Triple H put his order in for WrestleMania 34.

Strowman is the Game's main course, it would seem - quite why he needs five starters is beyond comprehension.
