10 WWE Matches That Outshone The Royal Rumble

6. John Cena vs. Umaga (2007)

John Cena routinely gets it in the neck from wrestling fans, most of whom claim the man can't wrestle. Opinions on his grappling are fair enough, but surely nobody can deny that the guy has been part of some great matches and feuds during his time in WWE. One of the best came against the late Umaga, as the pair put together one hell of a Last Man Standing bout at the 2007 edition of the Royal Rumble. It's interesting to look back on a time before WWE went all kid-friendly, and even more striking to see the poster boy for the PG generation competing in matches straight out of the 'Attitude Era' playbook. The Undertaker winning the Rumble may be the one moment fans remember most fondly from 2007, but Cena vs. Umaga is the one match from the show which truly stands out as a cut above the rest. It's obviously sad that Umaga would pass away in late-2009, even more so when you see performances like this, which remind you of the talent and potential to be a top star he possessed.
