1. Bill Goldberg Vs. Brock Lesnar At WrestleMania 20
When Bill Goldberg was booked to have a match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 20 in 2004 it should have been a really big deal. When it was set up at the Royal Rumble and then at No Way Out it really was a big deal. The problem was that the fans in New York City knew that this was the last time we'd see both guys. Lesnar was quitting WWE to pursue a career in the NFL (that didn't work) while Goldberg's one year deal with WWE was up and he wasn't coming back. WWE put Steve Austin in there as the referee because they knew the fans wouldn't boo him. It was a match that was filled out lots of chants including "you sold out" chants for Lesnar and a "na na na na hey hey goodbye" song directed at both guys. Jim Ross on commentary had to acknowledge the chants because they were so loud. While the match took a while to get going, Austin got chants too. Fans chanted things like "this match sucks" and "boring" repeatedly while Ross was trying to defend the match by saying the crowd was becoming impatient. After the match was over and Goldberg won clean, the crowd sang the goodbye song to Lesnar. He gave the fans the finger and then he did it to Austin, which led to a Stunner for him. Goldberg received a Stunner too. The crowd liked Austin attacking them more than anything in the match. http://youtu.be/UJ7hGa3nnfM There may never be another rematch like Lesnar and Goldberg in wrestling history. It wasn't intended to be a joke when it was set up, but it became one as soon as the bell rang.
