10 WWE Moments That Shocked The Wrestling World

4. The Streak Is Finally Broken

When Brock Lesnar finally stood toe-to-toe with The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX, very few people expected him to walk away victorious. A rushed build combined with the established fan canon that 'Taker's unbeaten record would only be given over to an up-and-coming superstar to totally quell any interest in what was a foregone conclusion.

The match itself did little to raise excitement. An early concussion suffered by the then 49-year old effectively ended any possibility of a classic encounter, as the Deadman groggily stumbled through the motions for twenty plodding minutes. Clockwatchers in the crowd sat on their hands as they impatiently awaited the Tombstone that'd finally end things.

It didn't come. As the Phenom was preparing to put his latest victim away, Brock countered into an F5. Three seconds later, 75,000 mouths in the New Orleans' Superdome gaped wider than the Grand Canyon. There was a pregnant pause by the disbelieving commentary team, before they eventually confirmed what few could believe: the streak was over. Brock Lesnar - a part-timer with no obvious long-term role in the industry - was the benefactor. Whether it was the correct decision or not has been debated ad nauseam since - but few could argue it was one of wrestling's greatest ever moments.
