10 WWE Network Original Programming Ideas

2. Bring Back Byte This

When WWE introduced Livewire in late 1996, it was originally a phone-in show with WWE talent in the studio, Paul Heyman calling in and genuine fans getting to ask some questions. WWE would can the concept after 6 weeks and make it a RAW recap show but it was brought back as a web show called Byte This in the early 2000€™s, where wrestlers spoke out of character and fans could call or email in with questions. In 2015, the landscape has changed a lot so you€™d have to change the format to include Twitter and screen the calls as best as possible. WWE has its wrestlers do out of character media interviews for other publications on a regular basis, so why not reap the benefits of those type of situations on your own Network? Instead of a wrestler like Roman Reigns telling Sam Roberts or Brian Fritz about how he felt about being at the Royal Rumble and the reaction from the crowd, you could watch and listen to Roman€™s reaction a few months later when he appears on Byte This. Fans should be less involved in manipulating company storylines and more involved in a way the company can control, like having them feel like they're a part of a Network-based show that truly uses social media rather than the surface level stuff we see on RAW.
