Nikki Bella has given up a lot of ground during her feud with Carmella. Things kicked off at SummerSlam, and Nikki’s return to WWE after a long injury absence. The night’s six woman tag match saw Nikki rearrange Carmella’s facial features with a brutal forearm smash before executing her new Fireman’s Carry Cutter finisher for the win. Carmella turned heel by attacking Bella a few nights later, and they’ve been warring ever since, but the momentum is firmly in Carmella’s favour.

The Princess of Staten Island continues to gain the upperhand on Nikki. She’s beaten her up before, after, and during matches, ambushed her on Talking Smack, and on this week’s SmackDown, Carmella and Alexa Bliss scored a tag victory over Nikki and Becky Lynch.

Carmella has developed a huge chip on her shoulder, and she’ll enter the match with supreme confidence. Nikki, meanwhile, hasn’t had much luck come her way since SummerSlam, and will be out to avenge Carmella’s recent actions in convincing fashion. Look for Bella to overcome her nemesis and end the rivalry once and for all at No Mercy, before likely moving back towards Women’s Title contention.
