6. Becky Lynch Weathers The Storm

SmackDown’s women’s roster looked to get the short end of the stick in the Draft, but the division has been booked excellently thus far. Naomi and Natalya aren’t on the card, sure, but No Mercy features two very well built women’s matches, and in Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch has found the perfect challenger.

Alexa is a firebrand. Hot blooded, entitled, and with an incredibly short fuse, she’s continually brought Becky’s status as champion into question, and isn’t shy on sharing her opinion on the “undeserving” champ. This week’s SmackDown saw Bliss claim a decisive pinfall over Becky in a tag match, and as with Carmella vs. Nikki, the villain has all the momentum ahead of this match.

Lynch faces a stern test. Though Alexa’s character work has always impressed, she’s rapidly improving in the ring, and looked dominant prior to her elimination from Backlash’ title match. She’ll attack quickly and relentlessly, and it’s very likely that the Irish Lass Kicker will be forced to spend much of her night on the backfoot.

Few are as good at weathering such storms as Becky Lynch, though. In terms of heart, passion, and desire, Becky has no equal in the division, and these are the qualities she’ll summon to gut it out against Alexa Bliss. She’ll endure a lot of punishment to get there, but look for Becky to end Alexa’s challenge with the Dis-arm-her.
