2. AJ Styles Keeps Ric Flair's Record Intact

John Cena has Ric Flair’s record in his sights. Flair’s 16 world championships make him the most decorated professional wrestler of all time, and with Cena’s tally currently sitting at 15, a win at No Mercy will see him draw level with the Nature Boy.

At No Mercy, Cena has a huge mountain to climb. AJ defeated him at SummerSlam, and while it was one of the year’s best matches so far, it represented a real changing of the guard, and established Styles as SmackDown’s biggest star. A few weeks later, AJ defeated Ambrose to become WWE Champion, and now looks stronger than ever.

Ambrose, meanwhile, has lost two consecutive matches to Styles. He scored a rare clean win over Cena a few weeks ago, but AJ has continually outdone him in title matches, and that’s where it counts. Still, he remains a dangerous x-factor, and his opportunism may see him eek-out a victory here, particularly in the chaos of a Triple Threat match.

Expectations are high for this one, and rightly so. These three have had a number of consistently great matches together recently, and there’s little to suggest they won’t deliver again. As far as the result goes, Cena equalling Flair’s record is a great story, but AJ’s not going to let that happen. He’s the best wrestler in the world at the moment, and it’d be criminal to end his first WWE Title reign after a month. Look for another sneaky win from the Champ That Runs The Camp.
