1. What's NXT?

TakeOver: In Your House was a very, very good show. And NXT, pretty much since the last TakeOver, has been in desperate need of a very, very good show.

The black-and-gold brand has succumbed to the the troubles brought on by the ongoing global circumstances just like the rest of WWE's rather sterile output, but the big b*stard outside can't be blamed for much of the rotten booking deep within the Performance Center.

Wednesdays have started to feel like Mondays, with some actively worse than some half-decent Fridays. There's been a host of lousy finishes, a few too many loose ends and a lot of colourless stories that resulted in tempered expectations for this show outside of those hoping for the house set they gleefully received.

Now? Maybe there's a future as bright as the In Your House logo after all. Io Shirai won big, Karrion Kross got over huge and Adam Cole has a litany of new challengers awaiting him now he's been freed from the drab clutches of the Velveteen Dream feud. NXT may still be missing the roar of the crowd, but they may just have found a small slice of the old magic when they needed it most.
