What You Remember: When yours truly was growing up in the 90s, literally everybody dubbed Survivor Series 1997 as a "must buy" VHS. After all, it was the site of an infamous 'Screwjob', featured Steve Austin's return from a serious neck injury and had four matches with that familiar, old-school team-based format.

Reality: Controversy aside, it's also a bad watch.

All four traditional Survivor Series bouts were functional at best and questionable at worst (The Truth Commission vs. The Disciples Of Apocalypse could be used as a torture device), Austin's revenge on Owen Hart was too short to satisfy and the main event is either awkward or boring as f*ck, depending on your point of view, to watch in 2020.

Even if you aren't sick of hearing about how Vince McMahon, Shawn Michaels and others conspired to screw Bret Hart out of the WWF Title before he left for WCW, it's still hard to sit through this event in full. Watch 'Wrestling With Shadows' for some juicy backstage stuff instead.
