From @ComeAtTheCat: What's wrong with the US Title? Once someone wins it they no longer have quality singles feuds anymore.
It's all about the booking. When Dean Ambrose held the US Title for nearly one year he barely defended it. None of the feuds he had for the title were very good and the matches meant nothing either. Fans don't care because that's what the booking tells us. If the creative team doesn't care enough to build up a storyline that's exciting then why should we react to it when they're in the ring? The idea behind a title whether it's the WWE Title or a secondary title is to show that it's important. They want the fans to believe that the people fighting for those titles really want to win them because that piece of gold means something significant to them. What WWE needs to do with current US Title holder Sheamus is put him in a feud with somebody that leads to an angle where they really dislike each other and that person has a goal to take the title away in order to hurt Sheamus. Right now it's Sheamus vs. Cesaro in a match we've seen many times already this year. They even had a PPV match at Payback in June. The formula is simple. If WWE cares about booking the titles enough to make them seem important then the fans will react to it the right way. The problem is in the booking.
