From @opzun: Do you think WWE will (or should) split Raw & Smackdown up again? More TV time for unused talent, less crushing boredom, etc.
This question comes up once in a while. The fact was WWE programming was solid when the rosters were split up because wrestlers weren't overexposed. I don't think they're ever going to do a brand extension again, though. Those days are over. They've moved on from it because they feel like they need to put the best shows possible on both shows, which means putting everybody on both shows. Other than John Cena, most wrestlers appear on Smackdown so that's something they are going to want to continue doing especially with Smackdown moving to Thursday in the US starting in January. The other big point is that Raw is three hours and Smackdown is only two hours. They could say that Main Event is a Smackdown only show to even it out, but I really don't think it's going to happen. I was a fan of the brand extension. I just don't think WWE really wants to do it again. They've moved on.
