From @rocco_619: Does Cena get unfair hate from older/hardcore fans? He's this generation's Hogan! Works injured and lives a clean life. He doesn't book himself.
It's a situation where Cena gets hate because he's the most successful guy that gets the biggest push in WWE year after year. Some fans are sick of it just because he's always in the main events or always near the main events. It's been ten years of it. Any time somebody is in that spot for that long they are going to lose some fans. You make great points about how he works through injuries and leaves a clean life. He's also a great role model for kids that does amazing charity work for charities like the Make A Wish Foundation. That's why it's weird that he has haters, but it goes back to the point of being so successful for so long. The hate he gets is unfair because he really does nothing wrong. Part of it is in the booking. He gets booked so strongly all the time. When he loses he's usually protected. He usually wins his matches. Fans that dont like him want something new and different. It's unlikely that things will ever change for him for the rest of his career. He seems to be okay with it. As long as the kids keep buying the merch, he's not going anywhere.
