From @dridgeo11: How does WWE solve the problem of needing part timers to draw at big events? As much as they need new talent, fans don't buy for them.
It's a good question that can best be answered by mentioning WWE's two most successful periods. We're talking about Hogan era in the mid to late 1980s and then the Attitude Era in the late 1990s/early 2000s with Steve Austin leading the way. When WWE was making history in those eras, the reason was because they had current stars that were top draws. They really didn't need to bring in part time superstars because they had the Hogan, Savage and Warrior types. Then they had Austin, Rock, Undertaker, Triple H, Mankind and so many others. What they need to do is build up new stars. They're doing a great job with Ambrose right now. Maybe he catches fire. It could be Reigns. Perhaps Bray Wyatt as a babyface could really be a big deal too. That's the only way they're going to really do enough to make management feel like there isn't a need to bring in part time stars like Lesnar or The Rock. With that said, creating those young stars that can be huge draws is not easy. They hope they turn out to be big stars, but you never know.
