It's a good idea. They are already producing it anyway, so why not try to offer something different because making $5 is better than nothing. A consumer might like it just because it's a very cheap price to get a three hour PPV event that usually features several good matches. Another thought that comes to mind is that some parents may not want their kids watching WWE Network all the time, so getting only a PPV makes the kids happy. If the kids have school, parents aren't going to want them to watch the Network all the time, so this makes sense for them. I had friends growing up with parents that wouldn't let them watch wrestling that much in terms of the weekly shows because they wanted them to focus on school. That kind of parenting does make a lot of sense. However, those same parents might be willing to pay $5 for a PPV because it's only three or four hours once per month. The other thing is, if they are offering it free for first month subscribers then you don't even have to spend the money if you're smart about it.
