It was another eventful week for WWE due to the surprise firing of a former 4-time WWE World Champion Alberto Del Rio. When we found out on Thursday afternoon that Del Rio was gone it was a big surprise just because you don't see that kind of thing very often. Some guys leave when their contracts are up, but a major name getting fired is shocking. Del Rio apparently slapped somebody that was part of the social media or WWE.com and that was enough for him to get fired. It's a bit weird, but it just shows that everybody that works in WWE needs to be careful because one slip up could cost you your job. The build to SummerSlam continued on Raw and Smackdown this week. Since there was no John Cena or Brock Lesnar on Raw this week they aired a video package about them that was amazing. Raw was main evented by Stephanie McMahon and Brie Bella for the second week in a row. It wasn't a strong episode of Raw. Hopefully WWE can bounce back on Monday for Hulk Hogan's birthday on August 11th with Hogan in the building as the guest host. As you might expect, there were several questions related Alberto Del Rio since he was released by WWE this week for unprofessional conduct. A few of them made the cut.
