From @WWEis4life: Has Hideo Itami been underwhelming in NXT until now?
It's been okay, but not great because it's all part of the process of building him up. It's still early for him. It's only been a couple of months for him in a foreign country where he doesn't speak the language that well. Over time he's going to adapt, get better and have more opportunities to have great matches. It must be a major adjustment for him in the ring because in Japan he was used to working at least 15 minutes in every match yet on WWE TV he gets about five minutes, so that takes getting used to. Hopefully he's able to have some high profile, longer singles matches where he can really show what he can do. Pairing him with Finn Balor has been really smart because they can grow together as performers although I think both will succeed as singles stars. Itami's going to be a big star, but as we've seen with so many guys in NXT it takes time to really get to that level. In the end, talent rises to the top. There aren't many guys talented than him.
