From @andyclemo: Do you think it's time WWE embraced the lack of kayfabe these days? Having a "Talking Dead" type show on the network with current or former writers could be great. Maybe separate Twitter handles for wrestling character and real person? Treat it like a real written show.
That's a great question. While I don't watch The Walking Dead, I know that AMC runs a "Talking Dead" show with a panel of people talking about it (CM Punk has been on it) immediately after it airs. For WWE, that kind of thing seems unlikely. The pre-show discussion show on Raw on WWE Network and also for the PPVs is probably as far as WWE is going to go in terms of their analysis of the shows. It wouldn't be a bad idea to do a weekly show at the end of the week on WWE Network where they get a panel of former wrestlers to talk about the storylines, but putting writers on screen talking about storylines is probably not going to happen. In terms of backstage insight, that interview that Steve Austin did with Vince McMahon on December 1 last year was very interesting because we had never seen anything like that before. Vince talked about characters connecting or not connecting with the audience, which was very different from what we've seen on a WWE TV show. Maybe they would be willing to do more in the future, but I have my doubts about any writers talking about the storylines. WWE is a different product than a regular dramatic TV show. They will acknowledge that it's scripted entertainment in the public, but for them to go much further than that on their own WWE Network is an idea that likely won't come to fruition.
