8. Former World Champions Becoming Afterthoughts?

From @JR_O6: How can a wrestler be both a former world champion and an afterthought?
The name Jack Swagger immediately comes to mind. Mark Henry is another one. The Miz could be thought of this way, but at least he's in a PPV match at Battleground, so he's a level above those two. Guys like Dolph Ziggler, Kane and Big Show aren't main eventing, but they are all used fairly regularly. Most of the others are featured performers. It's tough to push everybody all the time, so there's no great explanation for it other than to say that some guys are going to fall off the radar. Should WWE invest a lot of time in a guy like Swagger when they have newer stars that they can push that aren't seen as midcarders going nowhere? No. The current WWE roster is too big to push everybody. That's also why when they get to WrestleMania they put together a bunch of multi-man matches in order to get people on the show because there are so many of them.
