10 WWE Questions You Most Want Answered (May 17)

2. People Kicking Out Of Cena's Attitude Adjustment?

From @liam_harryyy: Do you think Cena's open challenges are weakening his finishers when lower card guys are kicking out of the AA and breaking the STF?
Very good question. It's something that has come up in recent weeks since Cena has had great matches on Raw with the likes of Sami Zayn and Neville. In both cases, they kicked out of the Attitude Adjustment. They do it because WWE wants to book them to have a competitive match with Cena and kicking out of his finisher is a way to get them a big reaction from the crowd. It makes fans think "hey these guys are really good." The problem with kicking out of the AA is what you said about weakening the move. Most of us grew up watching wrestling and almost never saw people kick out of finishers. Now it happens a lot. It used to be just in main event level matches in the Attitude Era, but these days a lot of people do it. As for the STF, he doesn't win with it that much. It's just an alternate move for him. It's not like Cena has a devastating finisher, though. It's just a fireman's carry really. It's still something WWE has to be concerned about because if it keeps happening it will make people barely react to the AA if they constantly see people kicking out of it. The reason it may not be considered a big deal is because of who we're talking about. For most wrestlers, if everybody was kicking out of finishers it would hurt the guy. For Cena, he's one of the most protected wrestlers in the history of the business. He'll be just fine.
