"ROMAN WINS LOL"

If there was ever an appropriate time for the grim meme, this was it - after arguably the worst Royal Rumble match of all time, Roman Reigns stood tall as the Wells Fargo Center booed him relentlessly. In an attempt to stifle the boos, WWE sent out The Rock to beat off the Corporation and raise Reigns' hands in victory.

SPOLER: it didn't work.

Then, just as this horrid show seemed to be over, Rocky discovered a prone Rusev laying under the ring and tossed him in. Realization set in - Rusev had never been eliminated, meaning he could still win the match! It was a far cry from fan favourites Dolph Ziggler or Dean Ambrose, but it was still an alternative to a greener 'Big Dog'. And suddenly, that sliver of hope was snatched away just as quickly as it arrived when the Samoan brawler tossed Rusev over the ropes and out of the match.

If anything, this elimination would prove to be a dark foreshadowing for the next 5 years - WWE simply didn't give a f*ck about what the WWE Universe thought about Roman Reigns. Once again, "ROMAN WINS LOL"
