10 WWE Ruthless Aggression Tag Teams You Totally Don’t Remember

9. The Highlanders

An amalgamation of a variety of lazy Scottish stereotypes, Robbie and Rory McAllister enjoyed a short-lived run as a tag team on RAW as The Highlanders. Despite making their debut on the back of a series of admittedly funny but Bushwacker-esque vignettes, the team were doomed from the start, and were used as enhancement talent for the majority of their run.

The Highlanders' days were numbered when Robbie was featured in the audience on an episode of TNA Impact, resulting in him being ordered to leave during the show and subsequently docked his Wrestlemania bonus. Unsurprisingly, the WWE brass would not be best pleased with the stunt and the pair would be released just months later.

Luckily it appears that the Highlanders served as one of the many stereotypical foreigner sacrificial lambs, helping the WWE to realise the futility of portraying Scottish wrestlers as typecast cliches, so that they didn't make the same mistake when Drew McIntyre made his return in 2017.
