As hard as it is to believe, sometimes WWE do manage to produce something that is both entertaining and positively rewarding. Yes, I'm talking about the same company that openly fat shames and bullies people for the sake of an on-screen storyline, even though they are promoting an anti-bullying campaign.

Yet somehow, WWE succeeded in making their mixed tag team competition - known as the Mixed Match Challenge - both a social media and charitable triumph in January 2018. For two seasons, Superstars were paired with a partner of the opposite sex in a tournament style weekly show. The rules simply being that you could only ever be legally in the ring with a competitor of the same gender.

In the first season, the prize would be $100,000 for the winners' chosen charity. Whereas in the second iteration, the #30 spot in the Royal Rumble match and an all-expenses paid vacation were up for grabs.

Multiple injuries lead to R-Truth and Carmella getting themselves over dramatically with their dance breaks, before going on to remarkably win the whole tournament in the second season.

But it was the original season that gave the wrestlers involved a positive goal to fight for and meant that fans instantly popped for whoever was lucky enough to win the tournament - with the victorious Asuka and The Miz handing their $100,000 pot over to Rescue Dogs Rock.

Another season - rooted in what made the first version so enjoyable - would help get some of their talent over (as it did with stars like Alexa Bliss and Braun Strowman) whilst also giving the company another boost of positive publicity.
