5. The New Day And The Elite

For more than ten months, The New Day - Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods - have reigned as WWE Tag Team Champions. The Elite - Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson - have racked up two reigns as NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Champs in 2016. Their success speaks for itself.

The similarities run way deeper than titles, though - both groups are made up of ultra-talented workers who are beyond entertaining (in The New Day's case, they're easily the best thing going in their promotion). Both The New Day and The Elite routinely have exciting matches and hilarious promos, and they give the viewer the unique impression that they're taking pro wrestling into the future.

I'm not the only one who's noticed similarities between the groups - both The New Day and The Elite see the comparisons, and as such, they've begun working a feud against one another online (the fact that Xavier Woods and Kenny Omega are real-life friends doesn't hurt, either).

Both groups have also dropped references to each other on television, as well. We may never get to see the blow-off match, but it's been a fun run between wrestling's most innovative trios.
