10 WWE Stars Primed For Big Success In 2016

4. La Sombra

La Sombra, a twenty six year old luchador, has been wowing New Japan and CMLL crowds for the last few years. If anyone has seen him perform, you know just how smooth and exciting he is in the ring. Having started out in pro wrestling at age thirteen, he is already a veteran of the ring wars. WWE tried for years to sign him and eventually landed his signature in November 2015. The company made a big fuss of the announcement right away, which is indicative of the fact that they have high hopes for him in 2016 and beyond. Indeed, Triple H has taken a keen interest in the star as a personal pet project. He posted a photo of himself with the luchador on social media, noting that he had the business in his blood (La Sombra is a third generation star). A major push in NXT is likely followed by a major role on the main roster towards the end of 2016. Like Kalisto, this is all a bigger strategy for WWE to make more money in the Latino marketplace. La Sombra is going to be a key player there, mask or not.
