10 WWE Stars Who Gambled On A New Entrance Theme

9. The Dudley Boyz Go Nu-Metal

Everybody went nu-metal, because nu-metal was the angsty sound of an entire generation we should really have known were f*cked there and then. We liked Limp Bizkit earnestly in 2001.

We were never going to become functional adults, but we at least never got on board with Powerman 5000 years later, which Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley did. Nu-metal has dated horrendously, and it dated horrendously almost immediately after its commercial peak, which is precisely when the Dudleys adopted 'Bombshell' as their theme.

Precisely why is unclear. The tag team were past their own peak, the license fee was therefore a waste, and their original theme slapped: the unique opening sting was enough to serve its purpose, and the riff if generic was rousing and over, which is the point. There was an ominous quality to it that suited the team well. 'Bombshell' in contrast is nu-metal at its most punishingly numb-skulled.

It's barely even sh*t; it's just a fast down-tuned crunch riff with meaningless lyrics that seek power but never wield it, and the all-important sting is dampened by a stupid robot voice.
