Goldust is, was, and will forever be recognized as the most bizarre superstar in WWE history. A face-painted enigma with a flare for the theatrical, he would create questions about his sexuality and push the limits of good taste. His odd fascination with on-screen WWE President 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper brought about a match between the two, a Hollywood Back Lot Brawl, for WrestleMania XII.

The flamboyant superstar demonstrated a toughness few would have expected from him. He took a tremendous ass kicking as Piper unleashed on him, delivering some of the stiffest punches ever witnessed. From rights to the head to baseball bat shots about the body, Goldust endured a beating that earned him the slightest bit of respect from fans. The guy who had risen to prominence by licking his lips seductively at Razor Ramon and wearing wigs and robes had proven his fortitude in the most barbaric match of his career.

Of course, the revelation later in the night that he was donning female lingerie underneath his gold jumpsuit did nothing to help the perception of his manliness but he was a made man in the wake of this unexpectedly classic brawl.
