10 WWE Stars Who Left And Returned More Badass
6. Kama
Papa Shango wasn't a badass.
A badass actually shows up for a fight, but the hapless voodoo priest couldn't even find the ring at WrestleMania VIII in what was among the most high-profile botches of all time.
Shango didn't last long in the WWF, owing to Charle Wright's abysmal in-ring game, but returned following USWA seasoning in 1994 as Kama: The Supreme Wrestling Machine. The gimmick was somewhat undermined by the unintentionally hilarious Mr. T-esque hairstyle and the fact that he could barely wrestle, much less fight, much less fight supremely - but he was presented as a badass, at least. You could see what the WWF was going for: Wright was an absolute unit. There was something to him.
That something was unearthed during the Attitude Era, in which Wright broke the old Shango curse and belatedly got over as the Godfather. The Godfather got over by doing what he did best: not wrestling. Instead, he offered the services of his "hoes" in return for forfeits, in a maverick agreement that suited absolutely everybody: himself, opponents, fans, and let's not forget Jerry Lawler, who suffered several seizures at the mere sight of the "train".
