Kurt Angle is a rare example for heels in pro wrestling, he didn't really cheat all that much. During matches, Angle was actually more likely to play by the rules than his opponent, and this only pissed off fans even more. Traditionally, the genuine Olympic Gold Medal winner had all the attributes of a good guy in wrestling. Clean cut, not a rulebreaker and a true role model, Angle was instead one of WWE's biggest success stories during the early part of the new millennium. Key to Angle's success was his constant reminders to the fans that their local sports teams sucked, encouraging them to ignore such failings and put their trust in him, because he was someone to admire and look up to. This formula was brilliant, and Angle executed it perfectly every time. Of course, as the man continued to excel, taking part in brilliant match after brilliant match, fans started to cheer him, but it's nice to remember the glory days of the man as a heel, where he came across as such a dork that it was simply impossible to like him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBPEVBCG0Fw
