Despite the storyline indication that Goldust and Stardust will be part of the Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match at WrestleMania, there is still a chance that WWE changes their mind and gives the fans a singles match between the two brothers. The two brothers had been teaming together for a long time, and as a duo they have recently imploded, with Stardust alleging that Cody Rhodes is dead. This family drama has been an interesting feud so far, with many fans sympathizing with Goldust over being betrayed by his now-deranged younger brother. Goldust has long been lobbying for a final match with Stardust/Cody, which would be his retirement match. While it would normally make sense for Cody to win in such a scenario, as it is a long-standing norm in WWE for a departing Superstar to lose to another wrestler, it would make more sense from a storyline perspective for Goldust to win. Goldust could defeat Stardust and re-connect with his brother, which would provide a touching moment. Seeing the two brothers embrace one last time at WrestleMania would be a fitting end to Goldusts illustrious career.
