Legendary Mexican masked man Mil Máscaras famously hated the thought of losing on camera, and he even shocked WWF officials with a quick, "no job" declaration before working the 1997 Royal Rumble. That posed quite the problem, because ol' Mil wasn't booked to win the 30-man match.

So, he just eliminated himself to save face. What a guy.

Máscaras, an icon in his homeland, never returned to WWF/WWE television until being inducted into the Hall Of Fame in 2012. During his speech, he refused to job out to the microphone and instead used his booming voice to regale the entire audience with tales of his epic career. OK, that's a joke, but so was Mil's only TV match on Vince McMahon's watch.

Kids watching in '97 must've wondered who the masked wonder with the barrel chest and penchant for no-selling every f*cking thing he could was. He was Mil Máscaras, and he hated to lose even when he was only making a cameo.
