In the depths of Vince McMahon's mind somewhere lies the hope that he likely had that when he made The Miz WWE Champion that in some way he was rectifying the error that was Roddy Piper never defeating Hulk Hogan for the WWE Championship. Similar to Piper, Miz is an actor with tremendous crossover allure who has starred in feature films. However, The Miz is probably 1/10th as good as Piper was in the ring (not a knock at The Miz, but Piper was phenomenal). If you want to really think about something, imagine MIz as 1985 Piper wrestling John Cena at Wrestlemania XXVII with The Rock as the special guest referee. Even more, imagine if Miz were on that level and there was a Miz/Rock confrontation that became a match, too. As well, if Miz were on the level of Roddy Piper in 1985, would CM Punk ever had anything negative to say about The Miz? All valid points to consider.
