10 WWE Stars Who Will Have A Strong Second Half To 2017
Look for the rest of 2017 to be dominated by these ten talents.
To say 2017 has been an interesting year for WWE thus far would be a massive understatement, considering the unlikely rise of stars such as Jinder Mahal, Braun Strowman, Naomi, Big Cass, and many more. That should go to show that regardless of in-ring ability or proper build-up, with the right opportunity, anyone can succeed.
The Brand Split has certainly allowed more stars to shine on their respective brand, but that doesn't necessarily mean everyone is being utilized to their full potential. There are a number of competitors who have either been underused, overlooked, or simply lost their way in the first few months of 2017.
Going forward, WWE must continue its focus on the fresher faces and mixing up the main scene. That way we aren't seeing the same matches at the top of the card we have for years, whether it's John Cena vs. Randy Orton or Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins.
The month of July marks the halfway point of the year where Superstars will look to see whether the resolutions they made in January have been met. It also marks a turning point for Superstars who have not yet seen their goals met.
If recent weeks have been any indication, these will be the wrestlers to watch out for on Raw and SmackDown in the remainder of 2017.
10. Chad Gable
Anyone who has been watching Chad Gable since he arrived on the scene in NXT two years ago knows just how good this guy is. The amazing thing is that as a former Olympian, he hasn't been doing this for very long. Just imagine how great he'll be with more seasoning in the next few years.
We can all agree American Alpha should have been much more than they were on the main roster. Sure, he and Jason Jordan did win the SmackDown Tag Team Championship late last year, but their reign was less-than-stellar and they were rarely ever featured on TV after they dropped the straps.
Prior to breaking away from Jordan, Gable had decent showings against the likes of Kevin Owens and AJ Styles, both bouts having major United States Championship implications. Considering his background, he would be a perfect fit as U.S. champion eventually, but he'll have to get a few wins under his belt first.
His recent interview with Renee Young on SmackDown Live seemed to indicate that WWE might have big plans for him in the immediate future.
