This is the one name on the list that might surprise some people. Zack Ryder is still over with most of the WWE universe despite being used as a jobber only occasionally, but for some reason beyond comprehension, WWE chose to take a guy who got himself over completely on his own and punish him. Perhaps that was the reason. Maybe Vince McMahon is so egotistical that he feels that if it's not his idea, nobody should be able to benefit from it. It's hard to believe that somebody who is obsessed with success would punish somebody who found it on their own, but that is apparently what happened. Even though Ryder is a life-long WWE fan and still does his best when he gets the chance to wrestle, there is only so much abuse a person can take before they say enough is enough. Ryder is so popular with young fans that he could actually increase ticket sales for any other promotion he wrestles for, no matter how small it might be. There's no denying that he could make a great living traveling around the country performing for whatever company will have him and selling his own merchandise. If WWE doesn't do something with him soon, they may find him taking a walk and seeing if the grass really is greener on the other side.
