10 WWE Stars You Didn't Know Started As Part Of The New Generation

4. Raven (As Johnny Polo)

Before Raven was...well, Raven, he was presented to wrestling fans with an image that couldn't have been further opposite of the grungy outcast character he would play for the bulk of his career. Appearing on a WWE roster for the first time in 1993, Raven was given the moniker Johnny Polo, acting primarily as a manager and color commentator during his initial run. The role of a spoiled rich, preppy doofus was probably not the best use of one of the most creative minds in the history of wrestling, but at least he was afforded ample opportunities to showcase his mic skills. Also, he was an associate producer of Monday Night Raw and a mainstay on the short-lived Jim Ross Show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAqgf07_uU4
