10 WWE Stipulations That Only Had One Good Match

9. Blindfold Match (Jake Roberts Vs. Rick Martel - WrestleMania VII)

On the surface, the 'Blindfold Match' gimmick sounds like a rib someone in the office is playing on the roster, and that seems even more plausible when one considers Jake Roberts and Rick Martel were asked to work it at WrestleMania VII. Yep, they had to stumble around "blind" on the biggest show of the year.

No wonder ol' Jake wanted out one year later.

The incredible thing is that Roberts and Martel smartly stalled and worked in easy pantomime spots. "He's behind you" springs to mind, although fans in LA were more likely to chant, "DDT" than that. That's all they wanted to see from this gimmicky midcard distraction, and they got it.

Criticise this all you like, but it played before a loud live crowd and ended the right way. That's more than one can say about follow-ups like D'Lo Brown vs. Triple H from 2002 or Santino Marella vs. Drew McIntyre in 2012.
